Who we are
Beyond the Door is made up of a Team of dedicated professionals with many years of experience providing ABA services for children with developmental delays and learning disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
BTD Clinical Director Genee Fountain is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)and founded Beyond the Door in 2005 after serving children on the spectrum since 2001. Genee received her HonsBSc at University of Toronto, and a Masters Degree with specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Special Education. Genee continues to participate in workshops and conferences in Canada and the USA.
BTD Program Director (Senior Therapist), Ilse Joubert holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and has been working with children with learning disabilities including ASD since 2005. She has completed courses and attended workshops in ABA including Verbal Behaviour. Ilse has an in-depth understanding on how to analyze behaviour and how to manipulate variables in order to achieve a desired outcome and is able to make data based decisions. In addition she has completed the BTD training program and continues to participate in professional development.
BTD Intermediate Instructor Therapists hold an undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field and have at least two years experience as an IT. They have completed courses or attended workshops in ABA including Verbal Behaviour. In addition they will have completed the BTD training program and continue to participate in professional development.
BTD Junior Instructor Therapists hold a Degree or Diploma in a related field and have some experience. They have a good understanding of the principles of ABA and how to apply them in teaching situations and have completed the BTD training program and continue to participate in professional development.
BTD Psychologist supervision is provided by Clinicians who are well respected in the Autism field and are approved by funding agencies.
BTD also consults with other professionals such as Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists on an as needed basis.
